The R&D Center of TUSAS Engine Industries, Inc. (TEI) was selected as the best of the year in aviation industry by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology for the second time in a row.
TEI achieved another great success in its 30th anniversary as it received the "Best R&D Center" award in aviation again in 2015 after receiving the award for the first time in 2014.
The Ministry reviewed R&D operations of many companies across the country and chose TEI as the best of aviation industry due to its performance in 2014. The award winners were determined by the Ministry after comprehensive assessments based on the performance parameters determined with the contributions of academicians and representatives of all R&D centers across the country.
"Crowning our 30th anniversary with an award increased our motivation even more and we feel extremely happy for this," Mahmut Faruk Aksit, President and CEO of TEI, expressed his feelings about the great success achieved by TEI. Aksit, President and CEO of TEI, underlined how they made their best at TEI to create an established engine industry in Turkey, and said "Today one of every two aircraft, flying in the skies, in civil aviation industry uses parts and components produced by TEI. I think, even this piece of information is enough to demonstrate TEI's position in global aviation industry. TEI not only supports the industry by creating employment but also shapes the direction of the aviation industry, and makes its plans accordingly; and recently the company determined its strategic road map at the "Vision-Mission Workshop" organized under the leadership of Ismail Demir, Undersecretary for Defense Industries. With this workshop, we have demonstrated what actions will be taken with respect to design of domestically-made aircraft engine, an issue of great importance to us. In light of this and other initiatives we take, we continue our efforts intended for development of an original engine for the national original helicopter project. In addition, we aim to contribute to the development process of the indigenous regional aircraft and national combat aircraft project in the long term. All these initiatives require making a very significant investment in R&D. And we continue our investments without any slow-down. We are extremely honored for being recognized by the Ministry with this award for the second time."
